ASSIUT AND NEW VALLEY WATER & WASTEWATER COMPANY (AWWC) undertaking rehabilitation and development of the existing OLD ASSIUT Water Treatment Plant located in Assiut Governorate. Our Contract comprises the Workshop Drawings, Civil Works, Supply, Erection, Commissioning, handover, and Operation/Maintenance & Training (OM&T) of the mechanical and electrical equipment of the plant.
Old Assiut Water Treatment Plant shall feed the city of Assiut located at Assiut Governorate, with the required potable water for domestic uses. The plant design capacity is 800 lit/sec divided into TWO plant parts CZECH part and GERMAN part. The equipment of the CZECH part (the scope of this tender) shall be capable to deliver 600 lit/sec, and the GERMAN part which shall deliver 200 lit/sec has existed. The civil works and piping systems of the plant are designed according to the plant's final capacity and to accommodate the mechanical and electrical equipment of the two stages. Therefore, the scope of this tender includes some equipment that shall be used in both stages such as the intake pipes, the raw and treated water pump's suction and delivery wall pieces, flexible joints and valves, the main low-voltage switchboard,
etc.
The raw water shall be taken from NILE River where the intake shall be constructed comprising two main feed pipes of 600 mm diameter each up to the sump of the raw water pumping station which shall be constructed at the site of the old Assiut WTP where all other treatment facilities existed or will be constructed as described hereinafter. The treated water shall be transmitted to the city. Therefore, the project comprises the detailed design, supply, erection, commissioning, hand-over, and OM&T for 12 months of the mechanical and electrical equipment required for the plant intake, raw water pumping station, treatment facilities, and treated water
pumping station. The plant components are as follows:
1) Raw water intake.
2) Raw water pumping station.
3) Distribution shaft and two flocculate/Clarifiers.
4) Chlorine house.
5) Chemical house.
6) Filter House.
7) Underground reservoir.
8) Interconnecting pipelines, valves & fittings.
9) Treated water-pumping station.
10) Sludge lifting pumping station to thickeners.
11) Rehabilitation and modifications of the existing sludge lifting pump station to use as a Recirculation pump station for the backwash water and the overflow of filters, distribution shaft & underground reservoir, and the supernatant water of both thickeners & built press.
11) Sludge treatment system (thickeners and built press).
12) Workshop building.
13) Administration building.
14) Generator building.
15) Transformers building.
16) Spare parts.
The scope of work also includes operation, maintenance, and staff training for 12 months starting the day after the handing over of the whole plant in good working conditions.
